This is the last weekend we have of nothingness until after Christmas. While I love the hustle & bustle of the holidays, I'm soaking up every bit of nothing-ness I can get this weekend. I have tons of things that need attending in the house (of course!) but I'm also enjoying sitting here on a Saturday with a blanket, my husky (did I mention we got a dog?), and typing up a little blog entry with sunlight spilling in through the windows...even though it is a lie because it is freaking FREEZING outside!
Pregnancy update: Our little Meatball is 31 weeks. He is...(did I mention we're having a boy and that we're calling him Meatball? Explanation to come.) 2.5 lbs and is about 16 inches long! When my doctor was measuring me her eyes got huge and she mentioned that he's breech. I got a little concerned and she assured me it's not a big deal, he has plenty of time to turn. She is just used to feeling a foot when she measures the top and not a head. I then got an image of giving birth to a breech baby and Brad's face thinking his baby was being born with two heads and could NOT stop laughing. I also managed to miss the cup while trying to leave a sample and ended up peeing all over my hand. Yes it was a banner appointment. :)
The explanation about Meatball comes from when I first found out I was pregnant. One of my co-workers mentioned I was going to have a little meatball and it just stuck. Brad & I love the name and find it hilarious and it's been getting good reception with others as well. No, we're not naming him Meatball. It's his in ute name. We are working on a name, but haven't come to an agreement yet. Brad and I both feel that it's a huge, cosmic responsibility to name someone. (Anyone remember the Asswipe/As-wipeh SNL skit?) Therefore, we're taking our time and seeing what's out there and we do have a few possibilities but we're also keeping those a secret (or as much as we can) until he has been officially "dubbed". Besides we all know those people who are "Debbie Downer" about names and if you mention you're thinking about "John", he/she will tell you some story about a serial killer named John Gacey....
Yeah so we're just trying to head that off at the pass, but name suggestions are welcome.

Like Whoa!
Sooo for the two people that probably read this blog, you MAY have noticed that my entries stop at March. Why? Well we were inbetween internet providers and decided we liked not spending the extra dough and we had an ancient desktop and decided it wasn't worth buying Cadillac internet for a Chevette computer. Anywhoo we bought a new lappytoppy last Sunday and so we are now back surfin' the web.
So, what was the big push for a new piece of equipment?? Well, big news on Hale Drive. WE'RE PREGNANT! :) *I'm assuming if you read this, you already know because you either:
A. Know me and we are friends on facebook
B. We are related
but if on the small chance you are an internet stranger, welcome.
Anyway, this is the time I've missed blogging the most. Some of the most fun and interesting things are happening and I've had nowhere to write about it to no one or update family members who are far, far away. I have a friend who did such a fantabulous job, (I'm looking at you And Baby Makes Three...) that I'm thinking I'd like to try to remember as much of this crazy, horrible, wonderful, full bladdered time as possible and then have a little space to share my journey into the unknown of parenthood.
If you're making the trip through the world wide web with me, welcome and strap yourself in, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
